Our School Directors, Admininstration and teaching staff all recognize the vital role that
community, parents and family play in the education of the student. The district is committed to
working with the community, parents and family of students in order to ensure that everyone
has an opportunity to become involved in the education of the children of the District and to
ensure the safety and well being of our students.

To this end, the Board supports community involvement in roles as volunteers within the
District. Mr. Peterson, Principal of Jefferson Elementary School, is responsible for the volunteer
process at the school.

Act 34 and Act 151 Clearances are required for all volunteers wishing to accompany students on
field trips away from the classroom. In order to obtain both a Child Abuse History Clearance
Form and a State Police Request for Criminal Record Check Form must be completed.

Clearances are NOT required for volunteers who participate only in in-school activities such as
class parties or a classroom activity with a teacher present physically in the classroom.
